Gerry Cardinale confirms preliminary talks over Al-Nassr stake

Done deal

Calciomercato.com reports that Gerry Cardinale has confirmed preliminary conversations regarding a possible purchase of shares in Saudi club Al-Nassr. The RedBird owner, who also controls AC Milan, said the discussions followed weeks of speculation but stressed that no certain agreement has been reached. Cardinale added that he should meet Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo and said he was interested in understanding the player’s plans after retirement. He nevertheless clarified that Ronaldo’s future alone would not be sufficient reason to acquire the club. The report presents the potential transaction as an early-stage possibility involving Al-Nassr’s current ownership and Cardinale’s investment group.
