According to Foot Mercato, Lille explored several options to replace Ayyoub Bouaddi, whose departure to Manchester City appears imminent. Among the targets considered, the French club made an approach for Real Madrid talent Thiago Pitarch as a potential midfield replacement.
Update (Foot Mercato): Foot Mercato reports that José Mourinho has blocked Thiago Pitarch’s departure from Real Madrid. The 19-year-old midfielder emerged last season after making 16 appearances for the Spanish club, but he has struggled for playing time at the beginning of the current campaign. Pitarch has not yet been used in a match this season, according to the available report. The article identifies Mourinho as the figure who prevented the versatile midfielder from leaving, although it does not specify the interested club, the proposed move or the financial terms involved.
