CaughtOffside reports that Manchester City held talks over a potential deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic earlier this year. The club subsequently shifted its attention to Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi, while Pavlovic’s valuation was reported at €100 million.
Update (X – @Plettigoal): According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City pushed to sign Aleksandar Pavlovic from Bayern Munich from March onwards, with concrete discussions taking place. Bayern were reportedly informed that City could have paid up to €100 million for the midfielder, before the English club completed moves for Bouaddi and Fernandez. Pavlovic appreciated the interest and considered the proposal, but ultimately decided against joining City. No negotiations took place between Manchester City and Bayern Munich, with the report also attributed to BILD Bayern and Sky Sport Germany. The potential move therefore did not progress despite City’s reported willingness to make a major offer.
