Calciomercato.com reports that Milan are considering bringing Zachary Athekame back from Lyon in January, rather than waiting until the end of the season. The Swiss winger joined Lyon on loan after Milan signed him from Young Boys in summer 2025, and he has impressed in Ligue 1 with two goals and three assists. Lyon are currently resisting the idea of an early return, although negotiations could become possible if the French club finds a replacement. Athekame is expected to return to Milan in 2027, either during the January window or in June, while his contract with the Italian club runs until 2030. His reported salary is €1 million net per year.
