Foot Mercato reports that AC Milan are seriously considering ending Zachary Athekame’s loan spell at Lyon in January. The Swiss right-back joined the French club from the Rossoneri on a loan deal without a purchase option, but could now return to his parent club before the end of the season. The report does not indicate that a final decision has been made or that the loan has already been terminated. Athekame is currently playing for Lyon, whose team is coached by Paulo Fonseca, while AC Milan remain his owning club. The potential move would therefore represent an early recall rather than a permanent transfer.
